Exports of Tahitian limes from São Paulo grow by 21% in the first half of 2025

In the first half of 2025, the state of São Paulo exported 81 thousand tons of sour lime (popularly known as Tahiti lime), with a revenue of US$ 72 million. The quantity represents an increase of 21% compared to the same period last year. In 2024, more than 1.1 million tons of Tahiti lime were harvested in the state, the largest producer in Brazil, with 70% of the fruit destined for export. The data comes from the Institute of Agricultural Economics (IEA–Apta), from the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply of São Paulo (SAA). The European market is the main destination for exports, with the Netherlands (62.2 thousand tons) standing out, serving as a gateway through the Port of Rotterdam for distribution to other countries in the bloc.
