In the first four months of 2021, agribusiness exports from São Paulo saw an 11.6% increase, reaching US$ 5.66 billion, while imports decreased by 4.3% to US$ 1.55 billion, resulting in a surplus of US$4.11 billion. The State of São Paulo's total exports also increased by 17.3% to US$ 15.31 billion, despite imports increasing by 12.4% to US$ 21 billion, leading to a slight increase in the trade deficit. Agribusiness continues to be a significant contributor to the balance of São Paulo, with the Sugar and Alcohol Complex, Soy Complex, Meat, Juices, and Forest Products being the main groups in exports. Brazil's trade balance also showed a positive balance of US$ 18.24 billion from January to April 2021, with agribusiness exports increasing by 19.8%.
