Germany topped the list with a purchase amount of $96 million, a year-on-year increase of 23%, followed closely by Belgium with a purchase amount of $79 million, a year-on-year increase of 20%. The Netherlands, as an important transit hub, had a purchase amount of $74 million, a year-on-year increase of 3%, while France had a purchase amount of $23 million, a year-on-year increase of 14%.
Although Vietnam has consolidated its position in the EU market, it still faces fierce competition from Ecuador and India.
Ecuador remains the largest shrimp supplier to the EU, with exports increasing by 38% to 140,055 tons in the first seven months of this year.
Experts predict that Vietnam's shrimp exports to the EU will maintain a growth rate of 12%-15% by the end of this year, with an annual growth rate expected to reach 15%-18%.
