In August 2024, Ukraine saw a significant increase in dairy product prices, reaching an all-time high of over UAH 15.5, which is more than 10% higher than the previous month and nearly 30% higher than August 2023. The average price in euros also increased by 5% from July 2024, reaching €37.4 per 100 kg, just 2% below the price in April 2024. The price gap between Ukraine and the EU and Poland widened, with Ukraine's prices being more than 80% and 81.5% higher, respectively. The first half of September saw a slight decrease in the volume of dairy product trade, totaling $18.9 million, despite a 4.3% increase in exports of milk powder and a 10% increase in cheese exports. There was a 5.3% decrease in imports, with a notable increase in imports of milk and condensed cream, sour milk products, but a decrease in butter and cheese imports.
