Peanuts, which are among the city's important agricultural products and are referred to as green gold, have been largely damaged by the heat. Producers stated that due to high temperatures, peanut trees have dried up, and a serious decline in the harvest is expected this year. Siirt Peanut Producers Association President Şuayip Aslan stated that despite this being a "carry-over year" for peanuts, serious losses have occurred, warning that approximately 1 million peanut trees might dry up.
