Faesp debates charging for water in rural São Paulo

The Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of São Paulo (Faesp) was present, this Wednesday, in an institutional agenda at the Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo (Alesp) with Deputy Gilmaci Santos, vice-president of the House. The meeting focused on discussing strategic issues for the defense of the rural sector in São Paulo and monitoring the main legislative agendas in progress. Among the topics addressed, Faesp highlighted its concern with Bill No. 1,046/2025, especially regarding the proposal to change the process for setting the values for charging for the use of water resources. The entity reinforced to the parliamentarian the need to preserve in the decision-making process the stage of participation of the Governor of the State, a mechanism already provided for in the legislation of São Paulo and that guarantees institutional alignment, legal security, and coherence with the state's public policies for water management.
