FAO purchases winter barley and wheat seeds for Ukrainian farmers

The Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) announced the opening of a tender for the purchase of winter barley and winter wheat seeds, which will be provided to small Ukrainian farmers as support during the autumn sowing campaign 2023. This was reported by the organization's press service. This activity is part of the 2023 FAO Response Program for Ukraine. The purpose of the program is to support about 5 thousand farmers. The program is implemented in nine regions of Ukraine most affected by the war, namely in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv regions. Within the framework of the program, each selected farmer will receive 2 tons of seeds of one of the winter crops, enough to sow 10 hectares of land.
