Boseong County (County Chief Kim Cheol-woo) announced that on the 29th of last month, a meeting was held at the county office with representatives from local agricultural and fishing organizations to discuss the attraction of the "Rural Basic Income Pilot Program" and to mobilize all-out efforts. Representatives from eight organizations, including the Boseong County Farmers' Association of the National Federation of Farmers' Associations, the Boseong County Branch of the Korean Agricultural Management Association, the Boseong County Branch of the Rice Farmers' Association, the Boseong County Association of Women Farmers, the Boseong County Branch of the National Hanwoo Association, the Boseong County Forestry Successors' Association, the National Fishermen's General Association, and the Boseong County Fishermen's Association, attended the meeting. They represented over 12,000 agricultural and fishing workers in Boseong County and made a resolution to attract the program. The Rural Basic Income Pilot Program is set to run for two years starting from 2026, with monthly payments of 150,000.
