Rural communities in Formosa and São João d’Aliança, Goiás, received weather stations this past August that will collect climate data from the region. The objective is to facilitate the management of irrigation for passion fruit and mango crops being implemented in rural settlements in these municipalities, served by the Irrigated Fruit Farming Project in the Vão do Paranã. In the 41 selected properties in Formosa and the seven in São João d’Aliança, irrigation kits and trellises are being installed. The climate data collected by the weather stations will feed into the "Irrigate to Develop (ID)" application, which will assist farmers in managing irrigation with daily information on the ideal time and the right amount of water to be applied to the crops, contributing to the efficient use of resources.
