Ukrainian farmers faced a challenging year in 2023 due to the unprofitability of most grain crops, despite good yields. Some farmers reported the best harvests in years due to improved technology and favourable weather conditions. However, concerns over future crop prices and market saturation were raised. Oleg Begmat, the general director of the Orach State Enterprise, reported varying yields for different crops, with plans to increase soybean and rapeseed crops despite high costs. The company will continue to cultivate corn due to its necessity for crop rotation.
