Federal Government maintains support for small producers through the Guaranteed Prices program in Mexico

2000Agro/Redacción The Government of Mexico reported that the Guaranteed Price program for the spring-summer 2024 agricultural cycle will continue from October 30 of this year. Through this program, the purchase of beans is guaranteed at 27 pesos per kilo, and corn at six pesos per kilo. This program can be accessed by bean producers who have up to 30 hectares of rainfed land or five hectares of irrigated land with a maximum of 15 tons of their product. In the case of corn, the program is aimed at producers who have up to five hectares, and the maximum volume of their product will be 35 tons. These Guaranteed Prices are above current market prices, which has as its main objective to directly support small producers in the field, who constitute the basis of national agricultural production.
