Prices for local feed and raw materials used in the poultry industry were reported to fluctuate on Friday, November 29, 2024. The cost of broiler feed varied between 18,500 and 21,900 pounds, while laying hens feed ranged from 15,500 to 17,000 pounds. Other feed types, such as cattle, duck, rabbit, quail, turkey, camel, horse, ostrich, and concentrates, also saw price variations. The price of imported yellow corn, a key ingredient in feed, decreased slightly, while the cost of soybean meal, corn, and sunflower meal, used in poultry feed, increased due to the global stock exchange and the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian conflict. The war and rising global fuel prices have led major producers to convert corn into fuel. Dr. Abdel Aziz Al-Sayed, head of the Poultry Wealth Division at the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, noted the fluctuating prices of imported corn and mentioned that the final feed price for various types of poultry food can change based on quality and freight costs.
