Russian fishermen have caught approximately 8.4 thousand tons of krill in Antarctica since March 2024, as reported by the Federal Agency for Fishery. The fishing industry's budget for 2025 is projected to be around 34 billion rubles, with funds allocated for fish protection equipment, machinery, and rescue vessel repairs. The Russian market is fully supplied with fish and seafood, and a ban on roach fishing will continue in the Astrakhan Region and the Caspir Sea until the end of 2024. The export of Russian fish products, primarily pollock, reaches over 70 countries. Rosselkhoznadzor anticipates gaining access to export to India, Pakistan, and South Africa.
