Peruvian company, Langostinera Tumbes, has exported its first shipment of value-added shrimp to Brazil, consisting of 12 tons of peeled and deveined shrimp tails worth USD 83,939. The shrimp industry is a key export activity in the Tumbes region, supporting 4,000 families directly and 8,000 indirectly. The main markets for Peruvian shrimp include Korea, Taiwan, Australia, China, the United States, Spain, and now Brazil. The company is planning a second shipment to Brazil and aims to expand into the Mexican market.
