Fish catch statistics in the Russian Far East

The article reports on the significant increase in fish catches in various Russian marine basins and foreign exclusive economic zones compared to 2024. The Far Eastern Basin saw a 4% increase, with a total catch of 143,300 tons, including 86,200 tons of pollock, 47,700 tons of Pacific herring, and 4,900 tons of cod. The Northern Basin had a total catch of 7,400 tons, predominantly cod. The Western Basin's catch increased by 55%, totaling 1,300 tons. The Azov-Black Sea basin saw a catch of 1,100 tons, and the Volga-Caspian basin had a total catch of 21 million tons, which is 3.5 times the level of 2024. Additionally, Russian fishing vessels caught 2,500 tons in foreign exclusive economic zones, high seas, and conventional waters, marking an 18.6% increase over the same period in 2024.
