Brazil's fish farming exports experienced a 49% revenue growth from January to September 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, but Q3 saw a 17% drop due to a domestically low tilapia fillet supply. The United States continued to be the primary destination for these exports, accounting for 83% of the total in Q3, followed by Taiwan and Japan. Paraná remained the leading state in tilapia exports, contributing 61% of the total, while Bahia surpassed Mato Grosso do Sul to become the second largest exporter with 14% of the tilapia exports. This information was highlighted in the Fish Farming Foreign Trade Newsletter, a collaboration between Embrapa Pesca e Aquicultura and Peixe BR.
