The Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan recently visited the 'Kaz Organic Product' full-cycle fishing complex, marking its first 'closed' production facility that has minimal environmental impact. Operating under its own fish seed and feed, the complex, which is employed by 70 people, specializes in rearing African Clarius, Tilapia, and Australian Red Claw Cancer in closed water supply systems. It is capable of producing 10 thousand tons of live and frozen fish annually, contributing to improving the quality of life for citizens and potentially exporting to Russia. The head of the company, Aleksey Shchetinin, highlighted the need for legislation support to increase fish production in Kazakhstan, a country with potential to yield up to 600 thousand tons of fish per year.
