Fish meal exports from the Russian Federation increased by 22.6% in 2024

Russia exported 173,000 tonnes of fish meal in 2024, which is 22.6% more than the previous year. This was reported by the Association of Fishing Fleet Shipowners (ASRF), citing international customs statistics. The export value growth was 18.7%. According to the report, Russia ranks sixth among global exporters of this product. The leader is Peru (959,000 tonnes). This is followed by Vietnam (260,000 tonnes), Chile (253,000 tonnes), India (208,000 tonnes), and Thailand (184,000 tonnes). The association recalled that Russian producers have significantly increased fish meal production in recent years. In 2024, 193,500 tonnes were produced, which is 11.2% higher than the 2023 figure.
