Five companies selected for innovative examples in aquaculture productivity

[Korea Farmers and Fishermen Newspaper, Reporter Young-jin Choi] Raon Ocean (Co.), Ltd., Korea Seaweed Cultivation (Co.), Ltd., Northeast Asia Oyster Cooperative, Hanbyeo (Co.), Ltd., and Wolya Fisheries were selected as examples of innovation in the productivity of aquaculture products in the Republic of Korea. The Special Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries, and Rural Areas under the President announced on the 10th that these five companies were awarded at the '2025 World Fishing Village Conference' for presenting future innovation directions in the aquaculture industry. The selection reasons were that Raon Ocean increased the productivity and survival rate of flounder by introducing a recirculating aquaculture system, and Korea Seaweed Cultivation was scored for producing high-quality seaweed seeds through an AI and ICT-based cultivation system. Additionally, the Northeast Asia Oyster Cooperative was recognized for industrializing individual oyster farming technology to enhance quality competitiveness.
