Just five months remain to pull together a major strategy covering both the sheep and wool industries, with an advisory panel admitting there is a lot of work ahead of the launch date at LambEx. The announcement of the Future Flock Strategy last year caused some industry contention, with concerns raised by some industry groups around the timeline for the project, the level of detail about the strategy and the degree of engagement with the wool industry. The national strategy, as well as a WA-specific roadmap, were provided with $800,000 from the federal government's live sheep transition funding, with Sheep Producers Australia also contributing to the costs.
