The Food Animals Initiative (FAI) has launched the Tilapia Care App and e-training courses in Arabic to support the aquaculture sector in Egypt and other Arabic-speaking countries. The initiative addresses the language barrier as most tilapia production takes place in non-English-speaking countries and most resources are in English. The app and courses will be available to more than 1,000 farms participating in the Tilapia Welfare Project, representing over 10% of Egypt’s total tilapia production. The courses will cover various welfare areas such as nutrition, water quality, behavior, and health monitoring, and have already been accessed by over 5,500 people worldwide.
