The Food Safety Authority in Egypt activates the condition that companies importing goods obtain a license from the environment

The Food Safety Authority, which supervises the import and export of food commodities at customs ports and the local market, stipulated that the activity of importing food from abroad be prohibited, except after obtaining a license from the Ministry of Environment. In his speech to Eng. Hani Barzi, Chairman of the Export Council for Food Industries, Hassan Mansour, Chairman of the Food Safety Authority, said that the application of this procedure was stipulated in the Authority’s Board of Directors Decision No. 6 of 2020 regarding the rules governing the licensing of food import, which was published in the Egyptian newspaper last July.
