Carelessness and obstinacy occasionally create serious danger situations, as evidenced by a recent incident. Agriculture is a hazardous operation, yet many outsiders do not understand why it is not advisable, for example, to wander around machinery during summer harvests and "admire" the work of massive combines, or to stay near horses and cattle on a livestock farm. If something goes wrong, the owner of the farm or land usually has to bear the consequences. A similar incident caused trouble recently in Cornwall, in the southwestern tip of England. A 75-year-old man was walking his dog in an open area on a path frequently used by the community when something happened that made him feel in real danger. A herd of cows attacked him, which may sound laughable at first, but animals protecting their calves can indeed be dangerous.
