Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has signed a deal to export agricultural products to the Netherlands and other European markets using hydroponic farming techniques. The move is aimed at enhancing the marketing efficiency of Saudi agricultural products, balancing production and marketing, and improving the economic efficiency of the agricultural sector in line with Saudi Vision 2030. The products, including tomatoes and peppers, will be grown in glass greenhouses adhering to high standards of water conservation and sustainability. This is part of Saudi Arabia's strategy to boost the global capacity of its agricultural sector, create jobs, enhance food security, and achieve self-sufficiency in many agricultural products.
