As of August 7, 151.6 thousand tons of silage have been harvested.
According to the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the harvesting of feed is actively continuing in the Smolensk region. As of August 7, sown and natural grasses have been mowed from an area of 40.9 thousand hectares. The most grass has been mowed in the Safonovsky district—4.5 thousand hectares—and in the Gagarinsky district—4.1 thousand hectares.
As a result, 151.6 thousand tons of silage have been harvested, including 26.2 thousand tons using the "packaged silage" technology. The most silage was harvested in the Safonovsky (31.5 thousand tons), Glinkovsky (12.8 thousand tons), and Rudnyansky (12.1 thousand tons) districts.
As of the reporting date, 35.8 thousand tons of hay have been harvested in the Smolensk region. The leaders in hay harvesting are the Roslavlsky (4.0 thousand tons), Gagarinsky (3.3 thousand tons), and Rudnyansky (3.0 thousand tons) districts.
In addition, the volume of silage harvested amounted to 19.7 thousand tons. The most silage was harvested in the Pochinkovsky (8.6 thousand tons) and Monastyrshchinsky (2.6 thousand tons) districts.
