Forbidden in Nature: Salep Harvest Continues on 30 Hectares in Kastamonu

In Kastamonu, the harvest of salep, which is prohibited from being collected in nature, continues. With the support of the Kastamonu Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, salep harvest was carried out on 30 decares of land. Salep, which is classified as a medicinal and aromatic plant and is prohibited from being collected from nature due to being an endemic species, continues to be harvested in Kastamonu. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry supports producers to increase the cultivation of salep, which is used especially in the pharmaceutical industry, as an adhesive, and in ice cream production.
