Iran is projected to produce 300,000 tons of pistachios this year, with 210,000 tons expected to be dry pistachios. Despite challenges like heat, water outages, and water restrictions, the pistachio harvest is faring well. Over 550,000 hectares of pistachio orchards are productive. The Director General of Cold and Dry Fruits Office, Dariush Salempour, highlighted the efforts to enhance pistachio production, including plans to improve and restore 80,000 hectares of cold and dry orchards, predominantly pistachio and grape orchards, within the framework of the 7th development plan.
