African swine fever is spreading among wild boars and pigs in northern Italy and Germany. In response, the French Ministry of Agriculture has launched an awareness campaign to prevent the spread of the disease. The campaign urges international transporters, seasonal workers, nature users, and pig owners to take specific measures, such as disposing of pork-based food remains in closed containers and cleaning and disinfecting vehicles. It also advises people to report any symptoms in breeding stock or dead wild boars and to avoid bringing pork or wild boar food into France. Additionally, the campaign warns travelers to Germany to avoid feeding pork or wild boar food to wild boars during their journey.
