In the 2023/2024 season, France achieved a significant growth in its potato exports, marking a 12% increase to a total of 2.581 million tons, making it the world's leading potato exporter. This surge in exports led to a 37% rise in their value compared to the previous year. Spain became the primary market for French potatoes, receiving a record 671.1 thousand tons, followed by Belgium with 774.9 thousand tons and Italy with 308.7 thousand tons. The Netherlands also doubled its imports of French potatoes. Furthermore, French producers have successfully resumed exports to the UK, which saw a substantial increase to 22.59 thousand tons, up from the previous season's 1,860 tons, following Brexit.
