The Central Statistical Office reports that there was a significant increase in the prices of various food items including Paris and sausages, pork, sugar, and fresh domestic fruit in May 2020. The most notable increase was in the price of fresh domestic fruit and citrus fruit, which rose by 39%. In contrast, the price of in-store coffee and confectionery flour decreased by 2.4% and 1.6% respectively. The overall consumer price index showed an increase of 2.2% compared to the previous year, with the rate of inflation slowing down for the fourth consecutive month.
