Ukraine: Frosts can have the most negative impact on 10-13% of winter rapeseed crops

In connection with the invasion of arctic air masses from the northeast, which has been observed since January 3 over the entire territory of Ukraine, the key issue for winter rapeseed is its condition. Potentially, the weather conditions of the first half of January may have the greatest negative impact on 10-13% of the total winter rapeseed area. Svitlana Kupreyeva, oil market analyst at UkrAgroConsult, reported this. According to her, it is the short-term cooling, as well as the failure to reach critical temperature indicators (in the absence of snow cover, a temperature of minus 15 °C and below) that plays in favor of an optimistic forecast regarding the state of plants.
