A delegation of Peruvian exporters from Ancash, La Libertad, Lima, Ica, Junín and Piura is embarking on a mission to boost fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables exports to Costa Rica, Panama, and the Dominican Republic. These countries, with over 20 million consumers, have shown growing demand for Peruvian agro-export products. The trade projections for this mission exceed $1.2 million. Peru has free trade agreements with these countries since 2011 and 2009, respectfully, which have aided the growth of agricultural exports. In 2022, Peruvian exports to these countries totaled $64.7 million, with Panama being the largest market. The products most in demand include organic bananas, grapes, Tahiti lemon, and sutil from Panama, and grapes, mandarins, blueberries, asparagus, and avocados from Costa Rica.
