According to the Vietnam Customs, in the first half of December, fruit and vegetable exports reached nearly 400 million USD, bringing the total fruit and vegetable exports from the beginning of the year to mid-December to 8.2 billion USD. This is the first time that fruit and vegetable exports have exceeded the 8 billion USD mark in a year. Based on the export figures for the first half of December, the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association (Vinafruit) estimates that exports for the entire month will reach 795 million USD, bringing the total exports for the year to over 8.5 billion USD, an increase of nearly 20% compared to 2024. On the import side, it is estimated that the total value of fruit and vegetable imports for the year will reach 3 billion USD. Thus, in 2025, the fruit and vegetable sector will have a surplus of over 5.5 billion USD.
