Between January and July of this year, Peruvian fruit and vegetable exports saw a 26% increase, reaching over US $ 2,801 million compared to the same period in 2020. Fruit exports, mainly avocado and grapes, made up 63% of this total, while vegetable exports, led by asparagus, increased by 15.1%. The United States and the Netherlands were the leading buyers. ADEX has called for efforts to strengthen productive chains and has announced the Virtual Food Expo 2021 to identify buyers and provide information on food-related topics. Additionally, the need for infrastructure improvement, cost reduction, and health access to more international markets was highlighted.
