In 2020, Peru's fruit and vegetable exports saw a significant increase of 14%, totaling over US $ 4,927,170,000, as per the Association of Exporters (ADEX). This growth is primarily due to the high demand for quality and healthy produce amidst the pandemic. Fruits, which made up 80% of these exports, brought in US $ 3,921,162,000, with grapes and blueberries leading the charge. The United States and the Netherlands were the top markets for these fruits. Vegetable exports, contributing the rest, amounted to US $ 1,006,007,000, marking an 8.6% increase. Asparagus remained the highest earner in this category. The United States, Spain, and the Netherlands were key importers of Peruvian vegetables.
