Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports in October saw a significant decrease of 43.3% from September and 14.6% from October 2023, totaling 519.8 million USD. Despite this, the first 10 months of 2024 saw a 27.8% increase in export turnover compared to the previous year, reaching 6.16 billion USD. Durian is the primary contributor to this growth, accounting for 49.86% of the total turnover. The outlook for the rest of 2024 remains positive due to seasonal factors. However, challenges such as increasing competition and over-reliance on a single market exist, especially with China expanding its acreage for key export fruits and becoming a competitive market for Vietnamese goods.
