The State Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (SEAPA) of Brazil has released a report detailing fluctuations in fruit prices at CeasaMinas in Contagem from September 23 to October 4, 2024. The report focuses on the ten fruits with the highest sales volume, highlighting significant price changes. Notably, pineapple prices initially increased by 6.3%, then decreased by 5.9%, stabilizing at R$80.00 per dozen. Other fruits like green coconuts, pear oranges, and Tahiti limes saw price increases, while gala apples, Formosa papayas, Tommy mangoes, and large watermelons experienced price drops. The report attributes these price fluctuations to various factors including production challenges, supply and demand imbalances, import competition, and logistical issues.
