The European Union has imposed tariffs on certain imports from the United States, including fresh fruits and vegetables, in response to US tariffs on European products. The tariffs, ranging from 15% to 25%, will affect imports of sweet potatoes, pine nuts, dates, grapefruits, and blueberries. The EU is a minority supplier to the Community market and received only 101 million euros worth of fruit and vegetable imports from the US in 2019, while exporting 230 million euros worth of fruits and vegetables to the US.
