The National Service of Agri-Food Health and Quality (Senasa) confirmed the completion of the first export of farmed fish from Misiones to Brazil. It involved a shipment of 9 tons of dorado and surubí, species produced under an integral pisciculture system, adding to previous experiences with pacú destined for the United States. Behind this new milestone in fish farming in Argentina is the company Gerula SA, recognized in Misiones for its yerba mate Romance. Last September, Bichos de Campo announced the intentions of this company, which since 2007 has added pisciculture to its business, aiming to reach the Brazilian market. Under the brand Cultivo Dorado, the Gerula family started with a fish farm on the banks of the Paraná River, which has now acquired a large structure.
