China's garlic exports in August hit a new low since 2017, with a decrease of 27.55% month-on-month and 26.90% year-on-year. The main reason for this decrease is the significant drop in orders from Indonesia. The average export price also fell by about 706 yuan/ton. The export volume of fresh or refrigerated garlic was the lowest since 2013, and the export volume of other preserved garlic products also decreased. The busy agricultural production and the closure and control management of some production areas affected the transportation, leading to an expected further decrease in the overall export volume in September.
