Alex Harrell, a farmer from southwest Georgia, has broken the national record for soybean yield for the second year in a row, achieving 218 bushels per acre in 2023. The record-breaking yield was made possible by planting Pioneer Z Series soybeans and successfully overcoming a period of dry weather and high heat indices. The conditions negatively affected the corn crop but were beneficial for the soybean crop, as they fell during the grain fill period.
