In 2022, Germany's mushroom harvest saw a 6% decrease from the previous year, totaling 76,100 tons, which is the third largest harvest since 2012. Despite the decrease, it marks a 13% increase compared to the ten-year average from 2012 to 2021. The mushroom harvest made up 97% of the total harvest of edible mushrooms, with the rest being oyster mushrooms, shiitake, and other specialty mushrooms. Twelve percent of the mushrooms were grown in fully organic farms. The area for mushroom cultivation decreased for the first time since 2014 by 1%, occupying 361 hectares. The dominant states for mushroom cultivation were Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia. You can find more details on the report at destatis.de.
