The German confectionery industry has produced 160 million chocolate Santa Clauses for the holiday season, marking a 5% increase from the previous year. One-third of these are intended for export to countries such as the US, Canada, Australia, France, Austria, and the UK. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic's impact on Germany's Christmas market, there has been a rise in orders from food retailers. The majority of the production, around 103 million, will be sold domestically, while the remaining 57 million will be exported. The chocolate Santa Clauses are available in various flavors and options, including vegan versions.
