Germany’s 2025 soybean harvest hits record high

in 2015 and has since increased significantly. In 2025, the soybean acreage increased by approximately 8% compared to 2024, reaching 43,6 thsd ha. According to preliminary data from the Federal Statistical Office, 134,3 thsd tons of soybeans were harvested. This represents an increase of just over 2,500 tons compared to the previous year. The increase in production is due to the expansion of soybean acreage, as the expected average yield decreased to 3.08 t/ha, below the previous year’s figure of 3.26 t/ha. The Union highlights the significant potential for substitution of soybeans grown domestically or in the EU, given the continued huge import demand in Germany: around 3.6 mln tons of soybeans were imported in 2024 alone.
