Ghana became Vietnam's largest rice export market in September.

According to a report by Viet Nam News Agency, in September 2025, Vietnam's rice export volume was approximately 466,800 tons, with an export value of $232 million. Compared to the same period in 2024, the export volume decreased by 43.27%, and the export value decreased by 54.73%. As of September 30, Vietnam had exported a total of 6.825 million tons of rice, generating $3.486 billion in revenue, a year-on-year decrease of 2.05% and 19.98%, respectively. In the Asian market, rice export prices are entering a phase of significant adjustment. Due to ample supply and weak demand, the export prices of major producing countries have fallen to their lowest levels in years. Fierce competition among exporters and currency fluctuations have given buyers a clear advantage in negotiations.
