Global apple production will resume growth in 2023/24 season

According to operational data of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), in the 2023/24 season, the world production of apples will increase slightly (+ 175 thousand tons) and will amount to 83.1 million tons, due to the recovery of harvest volumes in China, South Africa and the United States, which will exceed losses in the European Union and Turkey. At the same time, exports are expected to increase by 632 thousand tons, equal to 6.1 million tons, due to the increase in foreign sales from the USA, Iran and China. This is reported in the Ukrainian Agricultural Export Association. According to the forecast, apple production in China is expected to grow by 0.5 million tons to 45 million tons.
