The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service report predicts a slight increase in global fresh cherry production in the 2024/25 season, despite a decline in Turkey's output. Favorable growing conditions in China, Chile, the European Union, and the United States are contributing to this growth. Global exports are projected to reach 759,000 metric tons, approaching last season’s record. China’s production and imports are forecast to rise, while in the European Union, both production and imports are expected to increase, leading to more than doubling of cherry consumption in the EU in the last six years. Chile's production and exports are also expected to rise, making it a key off-season supplier to the Chinese market.
