The USDA forecasts an increase in global orange and mandarin production for the 2023/24 season, largely due to favourable weather conditions in Turkey. Orange production is expected to rise slightly to 48.8 million tonnes, despite lower production in Brazil and the EU, thanks to larger crops in Argentina, the US, and Turkey. Mandarin production is set to increase by three per cent to 38 million tonnes, primarily due to favourable weather in China and Turkey. The report also anticipates increased global production of grapefruit, lemon, and lime yields in 2023/24.
