The World Macadamia Organisation has predicted a global production increase of over 10% for all top macadamia-producing countries in 2024, with global production expected to rise from 298,914 metric tons in 2022 to 319,306 metric tons in 2023, despite a decrease in production in Australia, Kenya, and Guatemala. Despite a drop in China's domestic production, its imports of macadamia nuts, mainly from Kenya, have seen a significant surge. Kenya, the world's third-largest macadamia exporter after Australia and South Africa, has experienced remarkable export growth, with over 93% of its total macadamia output being exported overseas. Despite a decrease in production in 2023, the World Macadamia Organisation anticipates a 12.0% increase in Kenya's macadamia production in 2024, along with a quality improvement, due to plentiful rainfall in the Central Highlands.
