Global production of peaches and nectarines is expected to decline in the 2025/26 season, according to the USDA.

The global production of peaches and nectarines could drop to 23.8 million tons in the 2025/26 season, according to forecasts from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), after exceeding 25 million tons in the previous season. The decline is due to the decrease in harvest in China, the world's leading producer, as well as in the next three, mainly Turkey and, to a lesser extent, in the European Union and the United States. If confirmed, this would be the first drop in five years. The decrease in China will be 600,000 tons, down to 17 million tons; in the EU, the world's second largest producer, the cut will be around 10%, down to 3.1 million, due to the impact of hail in Spain and spring frosts in Greece.
